Ani Ledodi

This work represents Ani Ledodi. It was one of the first designs I created at the very beginning of my calligraphy journey, and now I had the privilege of bringing it to life here in Israel on real parchment. The verse comes from the Song of Songs, “I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine,” and it carries a profound spiritual meaning. In the month of Elul, it is read as a reminder of the closeness between the human soul and the Divine, a time of reflection, repentance, and return. Elul is often seen as a doorway into the Days of Awe, a period when the heart opens and the distance between heaven and earth feels smaller. Beyond its spiritual depth, Ani Ledodi has also become a timeless expression of love and devotion, often gifted between men and women as a symbol of mutual belonging and commitment. In this way, the verse speaks both to the relationship between people and to the relationship between the soul and God.
